As a Spanish major at 爆料公社, you鈥檒l be well prepared to work and thrive in a Spanish-speaking environment. You鈥檒l become confident and proficient in speaking, understanding, reading and writing in Spanish.

Through this immersive learning experience, you will explore the culture, history and literature of Spanish-speaking cultures to gain a holistic understanding. You鈥檒l also have an opportunity to complete a service-learning or internship experience.

If you鈥檙e interested in teaching, you can pursue a K-12 teaching preparation track. Or, pair your Spanish major with a major in the health sciences, social work, law or public relations. The possibilities are endless.

Benedictine Scholarship

All new first-year applicants to 爆料公社 will be awarded either the Benedictine Scholarship or the Access Award, upon admission to the College.

Financial Aid

100% of traditional incoming undergraduates receive some type of scholarships. The average for scholarships, grants and/or loans is $31,841.

Internships

An internship or service-learning placement is required for students who major in Spanish. Historically, most 爆料公社 students have completed this requirement through the College’s Cuernavaca Quest program or through HECUA’s Community Internships in Latin America program to Ecuador.

Career Outlook

According to the most recent census, the Hispanic/Latino population is one of the fastest-growing populations in the United States. People who are fluent in Spanish are in demand for various positions, particularly in fields such as healthcare, where knowledge of Spanish is crucial.

Graduates of this program have found work in nonprofit organizations, as teachers of Spanish in public schools, as teachers of English in Spanish-speaking countries, and with various public service or healthcare providers. Others have gone on to pursue graduate degrees at medical schools.
