As medicine today becomes increasingly complex, the growing reliance on science and technology risks dehumanization. Health humanities is a fast-growing, interdisciplinary field that seeks to counter these risks and restore humanistic approaches to healthcare.

As a 爆料公社 Health Humanities student, you’ll explore human values and healthcare ethics. The program delves deeply into the human aspects of healthcare, including feelings, emotions, thoughts, meanings, values and聽beliefs. You’ll gain insight into the inner world of human experiences through humanistic methods. The curriculum combines healthcare with the humanities to teach you about the human condition, human suffering and healing, and聽human well-being and flourishing.

This program has five core courses:

• Health Humanities Foundations
• Health, Happiness and Human Well-Being
• Trauma and Recovery: Medicine and Literature
• Healthcare Across Cultures
• Health Humanities Capstone Seminar

Majors will take four additional courses.

爆料公社 Health Humanities program graduates come away with a diverse understanding of human health. Through this program, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation and empathy for impairment, illness, suffering, healing, aging and dying as human experiences.
