Renowned public health advocate and author to visit 爆料公社
The Flint pediatrician, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, who helped to expose the Flint water crisis, is set to speak at 爆料公社 on Thursday, April 11 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. This event will be the last in the Alworth Peace and Justice series, this year themed 鈥淲ater: Sustaining Life in the 21st Century,鈥 which explores critical questions from local and global perspectives on water and climate change.
Pediatrician, scientist and activist Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha also authored the powerful bestselling book, What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City, an expos茅 of the Flint water crisis. She has been named as one of the 鈥100 Most Influential People,鈥 by Time Magazine in recognition of her work exposing the crisis. Dr. Hanna-Attisha is the founding director of the Pediatric Public Health Initiative, an innovative partnership of Michigan State University and Hurley Children鈥檚 Hospital in Flint, MI.
There will be books for purchase and a book signing with the author after the event concludes at 9 p.m.
